Edinburgh. The society is interested in aspects of life in Scotland from approximately 600AD to 1600AD. Activities include lectures, workshops, crafts museums trips, visits to historical sites, medieval music, dancing and combat skills. Medieval Feasts are held in November and February each year. The long and glorious histories of the Realm of Perfidious Albion are covered in The Chronicles. The Realm's has it own printing press and through the efforts of the Illuminator and members, produces the Feudalist Overlord news letter every term. The Realm has had many fine and dedicated councillors and subjects of note, who have been rewarded by admittance to the Orders Of The Realm. The Populace of the Realm has grown over the years, with many people settling in the surrounding area. Awards of lands and castles over the years have been made to Knights And Ladies to assure the Realm is strong and able to defend itself. The Ruler of the Realm, the Lady or Lord Albion, is advised by the Council Of Ministers whose job it is to advance the aims and goals of the realm. |

FAQ - what does "Perfidious Albion" mean?
"Perfidious Albion" means "treacherous England" - it
was a phrase used by the Emperor Napoleon.
NB - The Edinburgh University Medieval Re-enactment Society is not in any
way anti-English, it's just that "Edinburgh University Medieval
Re-enactment Society" is quite a long name and we wanted something a
bit snappier for everyday use. Somebody suggested "Perfidious Albion" and nobody else could think of anything better to call it.
