Barclay Playgroup Visit

models of Anglo Saxon houses
The photograph above shows models of Anglo Saxon houses made by children aged 2-4 years (at Barclay Playgroup). The houses are cardboard boxes and the roofs are drinking straws stuck onto card.
The pictures below show a medieval feast with bowls of food on a table, and a goose seen at a medieval village encampment display.

Children of this age obviously don't really understand the concepts of time and history very well, but they can enjoy trying on replica medieval clothes, strings of beads and so on. They can also enjoy making models and collages on themes like medieval farms or knights or pirates.
