In the Spring of year twelve of the Realm, the Lady Albion, lady
Devorgilla gave a feast to celebrate the new year.
As the feasting was due to begin, a delegation (Michael Theophanes,
Nicetas Koutzomites, Magistros and Presbeutis, and the lady Anna
Tzimisces) from Byzantium arrived at the hall. The ambassadors delivered a
message of friendship from their Emperor to the Realm of Albion and
presented the Lady Albion with a copy of the Book of Law.
The Lady Albion invited the ambassadors to join her table and to partake
in the feasting. Entertainment was provided by dancing and music under the
direction of the able minstrels, Caitlin de Courcey, Otto Von Gratz and
Lady Anne Montgomerie.
Sir Hrolf provided great amusement to the populace as he regaled the tale
of Th' Auld Man o' Bennarty, which was simultaneously translated by Sir
Gunnnar.
Rhodri of Flint squire to Sir Gunnar, gained his admittance into the
Realms' Knighthood. In recognition of this event he was presented with a
scroll from the Lady Albion, and a fine leather belt that had arrived at
the homestead of Aldis Jorundsdottir, having travelled across the sea from
the homeland of the lady Ariadne de Noire, who had visited our Realm in
the Winter of year Eleven.
Sir Hrolf formally asked Sir Gunnar for his sister, the lady Fions' hand,
and was accepted.
Eleanor and Aldis Jorundsdottir were admitted into the Order of the White
Sparrow, and were presented with scrolls drawn by the ladies Vigdis and
Ashildr Gunnarsdottirs.
Siobragh was admitted into the Order of the Golden Spider for
demonstrating to the populace the arts of calligraphy and woodcuttings,
and was presented with a scroll by Lady Ragnhild Askillsdottir.
