Spring Feast

by Freydis Haraldsdottir

In the Spring of year twelve of the Realm, the Lady Albion, lady Devorgilla gave a feast to celebrate the new year.
As the feasting was due to begin, a delegation (Michael Theophanes, Nicetas Koutzomites, Magistros and Presbeutis, and the lady Anna Tzimisces) from Byzantium arrived at the hall. The ambassadors delivered a message of friendship from their Emperor to the Realm of Albion and presented the Lady Albion with a copy of the Book of Law.
The Lady Albion invited the ambassadors to join her table and to partake in the feasting. Entertainment was provided by dancing and music under the direction of the able minstrels, Caitlin de Courcey, Otto Von Gratz and Lady Anne Montgomerie.

Sir Hrolf provided great amusement to the populace as he regaled the tale of Th' Auld Man o' Bennarty, which was simultaneously translated by Sir Gunnnar.

Rhodri of Flint squire to Sir Gunnar, gained his admittance into the Realms' Knighthood. In recognition of this event he was presented with a scroll from the Lady Albion, and a fine leather belt that had arrived at the homestead of Aldis Jorundsdottir, having travelled across the sea from the homeland of the lady Ariadne de Noire, who had visited our Realm in the Winter of year Eleven.

Sir Hrolf formally asked Sir Gunnar for his sister, the lady Fions' hand, and was accepted.
Eleanor and Aldis Jorundsdottir were admitted into the Order of the White Sparrow, and were presented with scrolls drawn by the ladies Vigdis and Ashildr Gunnarsdottirs.
Siobragh was admitted into the Order of the Golden Spider for demonstrating to the populace the arts of calligraphy and woodcuttings, and was presented with a scroll by Lady Ragnhild Askillsdottir.
