Autumnal Feast

by Mark of Norwich

On the 26th day of October the nobility and many gentles of the Court of Albion gathered for a wondrous feast. The Lady Albion was sorely missed at the feast due to unforeseen events, but the Master at Arms, Sir Alastair Saunders valiantly strove to perform her duties in her absence.

The council arrived and were introduced to the Populace, with the symbols of the Realm being produced according to the time honoured tradition.

An abundance of wondrous dishes were served from the kitchen of the Lady Magdelene. All of which were of equal merit and unsurpassed taste. The festivities were organised by the Herald, including singing, dancing, story telling and music. Of particular note was the delightful and interesting tales told by Corwyn and the fine vocal contribution of several of the gentles. A competition was held for all the Populace to demonstrate their bardic abilities. The lady Fides outshone in this endeavour and was unanimously declared the winner, being asked to accept the position of Bard of the Realm, which she graciously accepted.

Many gentles joined in light hearted games, and spent much time chasing a handkerchief to gain the favours of members of the opposite sex. although their were notable exceptions to this rule by some participants.

The Feast closed with the usual salutations to those of the Populace that had contributed to the success of the evening. The night was enjoyed by all and all look forward to the next gathering of the Populace for fun and frolics.
