David studied medicine at Edinburgh Medical School and obtained his MD in 1897.
He married Jane White and they had three children Lionel, Maureen and Joan.
He died in January 1937.

David McAskie was born on the 17th May, 1870.
He was the youngest of six children of William McAskie and Matilda (nee Brown).
William was a farmer and clergyman near Castlederg in County Tyrone, Ireland.
