Around 1700, three Gaynor brothers went to Ireland as presbyterian preachers. Other members of the family went to Philadelphia in the USA.
One of the Gaynor daughters married a White.
Jane White was a descendent of this family.
She married Dr David McAskie and they had three children, Lionel, Maureen and Joan.
She disapproved of Lionel's wife, Betty Pope, and disinherited her son.
